Highway Signs and Wonders

Highway Signs and Wonders by Thomas Dorland Cobb
40 Years of Miracles and Ministry on the Road

Several times the author of this book mentions "divine appointments," interesting encounters that seemed to be arranged by something or someone that is beyond our comprehension. For the author, this is the Triune God.

On February 12, 2012 our family accompanied the Christian Heritage School's Class of 2012 (the final graduating class) on a cruise on Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas. I was asked to be the chaperone  for the guys and lead devotionals every day of the cruise.

We had our first devotional Sunday night, February 12 in the chapel on the 15th deck of the ship. About halfway through the devotional a couple wanders up to the chapel, we invite them to join us. They did.

The couple was Tom and Karen Cobb,  and they joined every evening for our devotionals, Tom even shared a story in one of them. They are the characters of this book and they believe they were led to the chapel that night by "divine appointment." I think so too.

Our group got to know them over the next several days and a few of us were given copies of this book. They have devoted the last 40 years of their life traveling around the country in an RV being ministers of the Gospel. Their story is an amazing one. Filled with simple, yet courageous faith. A genuine belief in the stories and promises of Scripture and a journey that is inspiring. It is these kinds of faith journeys that will draw towards Christ.
