Life is a Miracle

Life is a Miracle by Wendell Berry
An Essay Against Modern Superstition

Naturally (because it's by Wendell Berry) a good read...seems to say that we have lost our ability to think and belong, we are marching like lemmings to the beat of the industrialist/corporate drum...with a 110% blindness : )

Dog-ears, bullet-points, underlines and brackets:

  • pg. 12 - shifting from to...(production to local adaptation, et al.)
  • pg. 41 - exploiting and defending
  • pg. 58 - the emphasis of high achievement in education
  • pg. 87 - the consequences of exposure to intimate emotions
  • pg. 145 - the disciplines, not as corrective force, but rationalization of what is wrong
